3 Things You Should Know About Black Friday

What?

Black Friday originated in the USA and is the biggest shopping event of the year.  It now takes place on a global scale. We will be offering the best deals and fantastic home study course fee reductions all week to kick-start the festive season.

When?

Black Friday takes place the day after Thanksgiving, which falls on the fourth Thursday in November – this year the official day is Friday 24th November 2017. Our distance learning courses will be discounted by up to 50% all week, ending on Monday 27th November 2017.

Why?

Most people credit the name as such because Black Friday is one of the most profitable business days for the economy, seeing retailers’ accounts moving from ‘the red’ into ‘the black’.

The term has also been used by police officers and drivers over the past fifty or so years to describe the chaotic day after Thanksgiving when US cities are bumper-to-bumper with traffic from early Christmas shoppers.
